POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for entry level warehouse work, which includes picking, counting, using motorized equipment and computers to efficiently stock the warehouse and fill orders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pick parts for work orders, customer orders, shipping orders or restocking inventory.
- Weigh and count items for shipment to ensure conformance to work instruction, and prepare parcels for mailing.
- Fill out proper department paperwork or use scanner or computer for tracking.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Work in a team environment to build kits or complete work orders in accordance with instructions.
- Read work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed or shipped.
- Sort and place parts or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Print labels and inserts.
- Operate a scale, scanner, box stapler, heat sealer, tape gun, compactor and mechanized material handling equipment.
- Receive in product and load/unload trucks with product or supplies.
- Wrap/strap pallets, open bales, crates and other containers.
- Perform cycle counts.
- Communicate any exceptions to supervisor or designee.
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Perform various other tasks assigned by supervisor as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be flexible based on work load.
- Must be a team player, yet also able to work independently.
- Must possess a sense of urgency with focus on quality and accuracy.
- Must be comfortable using computers and mechanized devices.
- Company will train to operate mechanized equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders or platforms.
- Able to wear (without restrictions) required personal protective equipment including safety eyewear and footwear.
