POSITION OVERVIEW

Due to an internal promotion, Sonnax seeks to hire a Product Line Management leader who is very experienced in growing and developing Product Line Management organizations. The Product Line Management team at Sonnax is a relatively new functional area and this would be only the second leader of the group. We seek a leader who can guide a group with great technical depth to greater commercial maturity over the next 3-5 years. Our automotive aftermarket replacement part product lines combine both well-established market leaders and new innovative lines. The role involves both planning and execution management. We need a candidate who thrives on constant challenge, is comfortable adjusting priorities in real time, while also disciplined to breakdown work and build effective planned approaches. We need a leader who is naturally comfortable and effective in growing staff and managers. While it may go without saying, we also need a leader who views this function as part of a larger value stream in the company and has been successful working collaboratively with peers in Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver the targeted product development to achieve revenue goals.
• Plan and manage the product lifecycle process.
• Oversee the product development plan and timeline to ensure resources are allocated to achieve the plan through collaboration with other functional areas.
• Manage team of technical Product Line Managers.
• Manage Technical Support Group for both product development and product support.
• Coordinate and manage complex product development system, producing many new replacement part products a year of both straightforward and complex nature.
• Ensure relevant market data is collected and used as input into product development planning and decisions.
• Coordinate with Marketing team pre-launch plans, activities and development of supporting media for products.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development in annual forecasting and planning cycles.
• Collaborate with Engineering for Product Development plans.
• Collaborate with Operational areas for product procurement and production pre-launch.
• Develop, set and track goals and metrics for Product Line team’s performance.
• Plan and run quarterly Product Line presentations to company’s management team.
• Member of Product Portfolio team to make decisions on product development and resource requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance.
• 10 plus years of product management experience, 5 plus years in progressive leadership roles.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive aftermarket, powertrain focus a plus.
• Proven skills in complex communication, organization and critical thinking.
• Proficiency in wide variety of technical tools, software applications and operational databases.
