Sonnax offers .116" thick, retaining ring MB-SR-3 as an option for setting the correct clutch release clearance in Mercedes 722.6 (272mm and 290mm) converters. Typically, this clearance should be .008"–.010" per friction plate, and larger or smaller clearances can cause problems. Additional options for setting clutch release thickness are Sonnax .104" thick retaining ring MB-SR-2 and the OE .089" thick retaining ring. These retaining rings are all sized to work with either Sonnax pressure plate MB-CP-4K or MB-CP-12.
