Symptoms:

  • 2-3 Late
  • No 3-4
  • Wrong gear starts
  • No line rise
  • No 2-3
  • 3-4 Late
  • 2-3 Bind-up
  • Loss of gear

Cause:

Constant oscillation of the solenoid regulator valve creates bore wear. This wear can result in oil pressure loss and reduce solenoid feed pressure and balance line pressure at the main regulator valve.

Correction:

Sonnax offers an oversized valve for the solenoid regulator valve. This allows the valve bore to be refurbished to restore solenoid feed oil pressure.

Constant oscillation of the solenoid regulator valve in the bore creates wear, which can reduce solenoid feed pressure, resulting in various shift complaints in VW/Audi 096, 097, 098, 01M, 01N, 01P units. In addition, wear at the solenoid regulator valve can reduce balance line pressure at the main regulator valve, which will result in low line pressure or no line rise. Sonnax oversized solenoid regulator valve 119940-06K restores solenoid feed oil pressure. Adjustment of the ratcheting end plug on the boost regulator valve may be needed after servicing the solenoid regulator valve.

  • Oversized valve restores solenoid feed oil pressure
  • Hardcoat anodized aluminum valve combats premature wear
  • Valve is recalibrated to restore OE pressure specifications
