Cause:

Severe wear at the outboard spool of the lubricating pressure control valve can create delayed engagements and poor performance. Wear at the inboard spool results in high TCC and lube pressures which can cause converter damage and lube related failures.

Correction:

Recondition the bore and install Sonnax oversized lubricating pressure control valve kit and calibrated spring to re-establish proper oil pressure limits.
