Symptoms:

  • Excess clutch overlap & clutch distress
  • Pressure control out-of-range codes
  • Downshift bind-ups
  • 1-2 Bind-up
  • 3-2 Harsh
  • Coastdown Neutral
  • Flare shifts

Cause:

Bore wear at the D1 or E clutch control valve allows pressure loss that causes driveability concerns.

Correction:

Renew clutch action and restore normal shift operation by reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized D1/E control valve kit.

Flare upshifts or downshift bind-ups are common problems in vehicles equipped with ZF6HP19/26/32 (Gen. 1) and Ford 6R60, 6R80, 6R100 transmissions. These problems can be accompanied by a coastdown neutral condition or pressure control out of range codes. The clutch control valve controls clutch apply and release timing, and problems occur when the clutch control valve or bore wears. To fix these issues, Sonnax offers the oversized clutch D1/E control valve kit 95740-08K. Installing this kit will restore shift timing and vehicle drivability.

  • Can be used in either clutch D1 or clutch E location
  • Hardcoat anodized aluminum valves combat premature wear
  • Tighter fit to the bore than OE for better sealing

This kit is not compatible with: ZF6HP19/26/32 (Gen.1) units with an 053 separator plate, ZF6HP21/28/34 (Gen.2) units, or 2012-later 6R80 applications that contain an OE "D1" valve with two equal diameter spools.
