The plastic OE thrust washers in GM 6T70, 6T75, Ford 6F50, 6F55, Hyundai/Kia A6GF1, Aisin AW TF-80 SC and Aisin AW TF-81SC (AF 21) converters suffer from high failure rates when subjected to impact loading. Worn or damaged OE washers can be replaced with Sonnax Vespel® thrust washer GMFD-WP-2. This Sonnax thrust washer is the same thickness as OE thrust washer, and features greater impact resistance and friction characteristics than plastic washers.
