Tool Required VB-FIX Required
- Burnt Forward clutch
- Delayed engagement
- Gear ratio & solenoid codes
- Harsh shifts
- Overheated fluid
- Shift quality is not load sensitive
Wear in Forward clutch latch valve bore allows critical pressure loss that causes feedback pressure instability, preventing normal operation.
Recover hydraulic control and renew shift performance by reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized Forward clutch latch valve kit.
Oversized Forward Clutch Latch Valve Kit
The Ford 6R140 Forward clutch latch valve provides feedback pressure to the Forward clutch regulator valve, balancing the regulator to assist with apply and release of the Forward clutch. Excess wear at this bore causes leakage that affects Forward clutch timing and feel, resulting in delayed engagement, harsh shifts, burnt Forward clutches, ratio codes and overheated fluid.
Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized Forward clutch latch valve kit 126740-06K restores normal shift operation and Forward clutch control by reviving the hydraulic integrity of this circuit.
- Hardcoat anodized aluminum valve combats premature wear
- Annular grooves help center valve in bore to reduce future side-load wear
- New spring matches OE calibration
