- Clutch drum flange with 12-tooth profile like OE or a 24-tooth profile that fits Sonnax's exclusive 10-clutch drum
Sonnax Advanced Process gears undergo a three-step process that takes aftermarket performance gear manufacturing to a whole new level.
- Cryogenic tempering for an even denser, more uniform gear with a tough and wear-resistant structure.
- Shot peening for increased gear resistance to fatigue failure, cracking or galling.
- A super-finish to reduce friction, vibration, noise and wear on the gear, potentially tripling the life of the part.

Premium
The gears in Sonnax Premium planetary assemblies are a big step up from standard case-hardened and tempered gears. The top-quality racing gear material (SAE9310) combined with a freeze-tempering process (-120°F) results in gears with improved grain structure and stability which are tougher and more wear resistant.
Ultra Premium
with Advanced Process Sun Gear
Experienced racers know that the sun gear typically shows wear and pitting well before pinion gears do. Sonnax Ultra Premium gear sets or assemblies combine our Advanced Process Sun Gear with premium pinion gears, greatly improving the life of the gear set at a lower cost than Sonnax Extreme options.

Advanced Process sun gears and pinion gears, made to the same exacting standards used on Formula 1™, NASCAR® and other high-end professional racing circuits, are the exclusive components of Sonnax Extreme gear sets or assemblies.
Gear Sets
Sonnax Powerglide gear sets are a big step up from standard case-hardened and tempered gears. Each gear set includes a flanged sun gear and a ring gear. The flange is machined from billet, not a stamped piece. The flange is broached and matched to the sun gear for a precise press fit that does not require welding.

Planetary Assemblies
Sonnax Powerglide planetary assemblies come in various configurations for different build requirements. The output shaft is available in the OE length or short length, machined from billet drum flange in 12-tooth (OE) or 24-tooth (fits Sonnax's 10-clutch drum) profiles. Units are fully assembled and ready to install.
