  • Driveline Sales Representative

    Our growing Sales Department is seeking a sales representative to join our Driveline sales team.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    The candidate will serve current accounts and develop new opportunities to maximize company sales efforts.

    The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse customer base as well as utilize our in-house technical, sales and marketing resources to service our current market and develop new accounts in a broadening global market.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    In addition to strong communication skills, the successful candidate must have a solid understanding of the automotive drivetrain markets.

    Skill requirements include strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, influencing, organizational and planning skills.

    Anticipating and solving problems on our customers' behalf is central to Sonnax's way of doing business. Some travel may be required.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree preferable or a minimum of an Associate’s degree or technical school; and/or 10 years related experience in the automotive industry.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
    • Basic understanding of reading blueprints.
    • Spanish language speaking is a plus.

  • Technical Writer

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    The Sonnax Technical Support Group (TSG) is responsible for supplementing existing resources in the Engineering Group for enhanced product and project delivery. As a member of the TSG, the Technical Writer will document customer requests and ideas for presentation as actionable elements for development by the Engineering Group. The Technical Writer also will organize and revamp technical materials from the Engineering Group into proper formats for training and promotional use by other departments.

    • Support Sales, Marketing, and Engineering with the development of Technical Support Packages and product instructions.
    • Organize and document technical evaluations to support product development.
    • Verify technical information with technicians, engineers and outside resources, as necessary for accuracy and completeness of data.
    • Draft and/or proof technical information for external communication including, but not limited to, seminar events, presentations and technical articles.
    • Develop employee training presentations to broaden in-house knowledge of the function and design of Sonnax product lines (automatic transmissions, torque converters, driveline and high performance.)
    • Review and update existing product data and instructions for clarity and accuracy.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Associates degree with concentration in technical writing, journalism or business preferred.
    • Three or more years of technical writing with an emphasis on catalog and/or product promotion and technical support documentation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex concepts and product information simply and effectively.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

  • Technical Writer

  • Technical Support Group Manager

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    The Technical Support Group Manager, or TSG, is responsible for focusing and aligning activities comprised of highly qualified transmission diagnostic and support specialists to achieve enhanced customer support, product research, and efficient execution of strategic initiatives. Several of these specialists are remotely located, with the majority of their interaction with Sonnax HQ via email and phone.

    • Directs technical support services for all product lines (automatic transmissions, torque converters, driveline, and high performance).
      • Technical support hotline.
      • Web and forum communications
    • Supports Sales, Marketing, and Engineering with development of Technical Support Packages and oversight of existing product instructions.
    • Directs technical resources for evaluating transmissions to support new product development.
      • Obtains samples and determines vehicle applications.
      • Determines transmission control systems and operating parameters.
      • Verifies technical accuracy of completed evaluations.
    • Manages development of technical information for external communication.
      • Seminar events, presentations, technical articles and videos.
    • Develops training programs for Sonnax employees to broaden in-house knowledge on the function and design of our product lines (automatic transmissions, torque converters, driveline, and high performance).
    • Manages the review and update of existing product instructions for technical clarity.
    • Flexibility for domestic and international travel for business purposes as needed.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree with concentration in management and/or business preferred.
    • 3 or more years of leadership experience with proven history of people management, hiring, and developing high performing and high-engaging teams in-house and in a virtual environment.
    • Proficiency in technical writing and familiarity with digital photography.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including an ability to communicate complex issues simply.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

  • Buyer

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Responsible for source selection and purchasing functions directly associated with the Company's needs for custom manufactured products and services. The position is further responsible for the timely planning, scheduling and delivery of the products and services as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates best prices and terms with suppliers; and selects suppliers based on capability, cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
    • Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supplier capabilities; assists in the resolution of design, quality, production, and/or delivery problems.
    • Visits supplier facilities both domestically and/or internationally to maintain ongoing relationships, resolve performance issues, or to qualify as new source.
    • Clearly communicates to suppliers the company's expectations concerning performance, quality and customer service and holds suppliers accountable for meeting those expectations.
    • Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments and manufacturing methods applicable to assigned responsibilities.
    Education and/or Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis in business administration, economics, and/or engineering or technical school; and two or more year's related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong computer skills using spreadsheets and ERP database.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
    • Knowledge of the Principles of Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
