Assembler

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for producing assembled components that meet the company's quality and production standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate arbor & hydraulic presses, drill presses, marking and testing equipment.
  • Rotate through all steps required in a particular production process, including performing detailed repetitive tasks while maintaining a high degree of focus.
  • Review work orders and blueprints to ensure work is performed according to specifications. 
  • Perform quality checks on products and parts. 
  • Package finished products and prepare them for shipment. 
  • Complete production reports to communicate production level to management. 
  • Take proper care of all Sonnax tools and equipment and keep work areas clean and free of hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and work orders. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to use calipers, mics and dial indicators to inspect parts.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a dynamic, team-based environment.
  • Able to work on a limited number of jobs with oversight from senior employee or supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Willing to work around petroleum based lubricants.
  • Willing to work in and around a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, and move, bend, stoop and sit intermittently. 
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to wear (without restrictions) required personal protective equipment including safety eyewear and footwear.
