The channel plate/lower cover checkball and spring in the various VW/Audi 01M, 01N and 01P units aid in controlling solenoid regulator pressure. When the spring breaks or collapses, proper fluid control is not maintained, resulting in 2-3 and 3-2 shift complaints. Sonnax checkball spring 119940-20 restores proper fluid control.

  • Direct replacement
  • Maintains proper solenoid regulator pressure control

Some of the Phase 0 and 1 valve bodies (096, 097, 098) also contain this checkball spring. This replacement spring may be used in those applications after the location and spring specifications are verified. The OE spring should measure .008 wire diameter, .178–.194" outside diameter, and approximately .280" long in order to use this replacement spring.
