Symptoms:

  • No lockup
  • Delayed engagement
  • Codes 731 to 741
  • Overheating
  • Front lube failure

Cause:

Wear at the solenoid feed limit valve causes severe pressure, solenoid flooding and shift problems. Wear at the converter feed limit valve reduces converter charge, increasing stall RPM and fuel consumption.

Correction:

Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized solenoid and converter feel limit valve kit restores hydraulic integrity to the circuit.
