Wear at the solenoid feed limit valve causes severe pressure, solenoid flooding and shift problems. Wear at the converter feed limit valve reduces converter charge, increasing stall RPM and fuel consumption.
Oversizing the bore with this Sonnax tool kit removes material from the bore restoring roundness, concentricity and finish. Installation of Sonnax hardcoat anodized valves completes the restoration.
Ford 5R55W and 5R55S transmissions commonly exhibit TCC engagement issues, gear ratio codes and overheat problems due to excessive wear in the solenoid feed limit and/or converter feed limit valve bores. Front lube failure and reduced converter charge also may be seen when the converter feed limit valve is worn.
