Symptoms:

Cause:
Wear at the 2-3 overlap control valve bore prevents proper exhaust of the disengaging clutch pressure, altering the precise timing required in the clutch-to-clutch shift transition.Correction:
Recondition the bore and install Sonnax oversized 2-3 overlap control valve kit to restore hydraulic sealing integrity and valve timing.Warning:

The 2-3 overlap control valve, controlled by EPC (modulated pressure) and shift valve pressure, is used to gradually reduce the pressure to the disengaging K3 clutch, during the 2-3 upshift. The Mercedes 722.6 transmission uses clutch-to-clutch transitioning during shifts, so timing is very critical to prevent shift complaints like flares or bind-ups. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized 2-3 overlap control valve kit 68942-27K restores OE shift pressures for proper timing and function.
