Honda/Acura 4-speed units are infamous for TCC lockup issues in both full lockup and slip mode. These units also are known to frequently overheat either the torque converter alone or the entire transmission. These issues are caused by wear at valve spools and bore lands that allow ATF to leak away from critical hydraulic circuits.
