Symptoms:

  • Burnt brake clutches
  • Burnt clutches
  • Shift concerns
  • Lockup concerns

Cause:

Wear of the end plugs allows valuable line pressure and SLT pressure to leak at the various valve bores.

Correction:

These Sonnax O-ringed end plugs restore correct circuit pressures. The O-ring provides additional sealing to reduce hydraulic losses at critical circuits.

The end plugs at the various valves are designed to seal line pressure and SLT pressure that is critical in controlling component apply pressure during shifts at various throttle pressures. When this fluid pressure is allowed to leak due to plug wear, various shift complaints and burnt clutches occur within those specific circuits. Loss of pressure at the secondary regulator valve and lockup relay valve plugs also prevents proper control of the converter circuit, creating lockup complaints.

Sonnax O-ringed end plug kit 47740-21K restores correct circuit pressures in Toyota/Lexus U660E/F, U760E/F units. The O-ring provides additional sealing to reduce hydraulic losses at critical circuits.

  • No special tools required
  • Minimal end plug-to-bore clearance with added O-ring for positive seal
