Symptoms:

  • Harsh shifts
  • Shift codes
  • Shift concerns

Cause:

Wear at the valve/sleeve bore allows critical control pressures to cross leak between valve body circuits or escape to the sump. Accumulator control pressure may be high or low depending on wear location.

Correction:

The Sonnax accumulator control plunger valve and sleeve kit ends cross leaks caused by wear and contains hydraulic pressure in the intended circuits. Pressure loss to the sump caused by worn components is eliminated.

When shift codes and shift complaints such as harsh shifts are found in Toyota/Lexus A750E/F, A760, A960 and AB60 series units, the accumulator control valve is frequently the culprit. If the wear is restricted to the accumulator control plunger valve and sleeve, installing Sonnax accumulator control plunger valve and sleeve kit 147741-35K will eliminate cross leaks and uncontrolled pressure loss.
