Sonnax was one of nine companies recently honored with the 2016 Jasper Engines & Transmissions Supplier Service Award. Known as the “ELMO,” this honor is presented to select Jasper vendor partners for outstanding support in three categories: Growth, Service and Quality.
“The entire Sonnax organization works diligently each year to continually improve our processes, quality and service to ensure an industry-leading product and experience for our customers,” Sonnax Director of Strategic Accounts Seth Baldasaro said. “To be recognized by Jasper for outstanding service for the fifth time is a testament to the dedication of employees at Sonnax to meet our mission statement of exceeding the customer expectations.”
Jasper Engines & Transmissions is the largest remanufacturer of engines and transmissions in the nation. Their products are distributed through a network of 41 branch and distributor locations throughout the United States.
The Sonnax Technical Automotive Specialties Committee (TASC) Force recently met in Jasper, Indiana, to discuss the top trends and topics in the transmission industry. The event was attended by 45 people from 15 different companies across three countries (U.S., Canada and Sweden).
The TASC Force is composed of expert transmission rebuilders and technicians with a hands-on understanding of the latest units and industry developments. Working closely with Sonnax design engineers and technicians, participants contribute product ideas, test new fixes and troubleshoot results, then meet on a regular basis to compare findings. These individuals play an invaluable role in identifying the root causes of transmission problems and supporting the development of Sonnax transmission products for the automotive aftermarket.
Held at the Jasper Engines & Transmissions headquarters, the group toured the company’s new Power Drive Facility and followed up with a two-day business meeting. TASC members discussed dozens of new product requests for late-model units as well as some older repairs for legacy-type units. Jasper is a long-time contributor to the TASC Force.
The meeting also included a presentation by Sonnax Vice President of Quality, Continuous Improvement & Environmental Health & Safety John Kulungian. As an industry leader in the cutting-edge design, manufacture and distribution of the highest quality products, Sonnax is committed to excellence in every aspect of its operations. Kulungian has been instrumental in identifying new opportunities and engaging employee-owners in pursuit of this goal since joining the company in 2016.
“This was a great opportunity to share the progress and plans for quality and continuous improvement at Sonnax,” Kulungian said. “The TASC workshop session on how Sonnax can improve our customers’ experience was well-received and actionable.”
