Excessive valve and bore clearance allows critical line pressure to exhaust causing high or low pressure depending on the location of the wear.
The Sonnax oversized valve and tool kit restore the correct valve/bore clearances and line pressure control as well as prevent future wear in this area.
Wear is commonly found at different areas in ZF6HP19/26/32 (Gen. 1) and Ford 6R60/6R80 pressure regulator bores. Wear at the sleeve end causes high line pressure leading to broken drums, pistons or other parts, as well as restricted converter/lubrication flow. Wear at the spring end of the bore allows low line pressure and lube/TC fluid to exhaust leading to a burned converter clutch and premature bushing failure. The Sonnax oversized pressure regulator valve kit 95740-01K restores valve-to-bore or sleeve clearances so the pressure regulator valve can maintain correct pressures.
Kit is NOT compatible with ZF6HP19/26/32 (Gen.1) units with an 053 separator plate code or ZF6HP21/28/34 (Gen.2) units. To differentiate between Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 valve bodies, see ZF Identification Guide.

A vacuum test at the inner port fails to hold 18 in-hg of vacuum or higher, or if visual wear is detected at the inboard valve bores. If the inner port holds vacuum, but the outer port fails to hold 16 in-hg, use either this oversized pressure regulator valve kit 95740-01K or direct replacement pressure regulator sleeve [95740-03].
