Symptoms:

  • 2-3 Bind-up
  • 4-3 Bind-up
  • B1 Clutches burned
  • Harsh 1 through 4 maneuver shifts
  • Erratic shift timing

Cause:

Wear of the B1 control valve in the aluminum sleeve.

Correction:

The B1 brake in Toyota/Lexus U151E, U151F and U250E transmissions is applied in 2nd, 4th and 5th Gear. If there is excessive wear at the plunger valve sleeve, B1 brake oil is reduced.
