Symptoms:

  • Delayed Reverse
  • B2 Clutches burned
  • No engine braking in manual low
  • Erratic shift timing

Cause:

Wear of the B2 control valve in the aluminum sleeve.

Correction:

The new assembly eliminates the loss of B2 pressure.

The B2 brake in U151E/F and U250E transmissions is applied in reverse and manual low. During manual low, the B2 apply control plunger valve helps to correctly position the apply control valve to route low/1st oil pressure through the control valve to apply the brake. If there is excessive wear at the plunger valve sleeve, B2 brake oil is reduced.
