Symptoms:

Cause:

Excessive solenoid pressure is caused by line pressure side-loading the steel solenoid modulator valve along with the continuous oscillation of the valve, which wears the cast aluminum bore.

Correction:

Sonnax solenoid modulator valve and high-grade aluminum sleeve allow the bore to be refurbished, and prevent side-loading of the valve and future wear.

In Toyota/Lexus U151E, U151F and U250E units, the steel OE solenoid modulator valve is prone to side-loading in the bore. This side-loading action, combined with repeated oscillation of the valve, prematurely wears the cast aluminum bore causing shift and TCC concerns.
