Symptoms:

  • Delayed Reverse
  • Harsh Reverse
  • Double bump Reverse engagement
  • No Manual 1st
  • B2 Clutches burned

Cause:

Bore wear at the B2 control valve allows B2 clutch control pressure loss, resulting in Reverse engagement issues. When this wear becomes severe enough, the plug valve can stick, causing loss of Reverse.

Correction:

Recover hydraulic control and renew Reverse performance by reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized B2 control valve kit.

Vehicles equipped with a U660E/F or U760E/F transmission may exhibit problems related to the B2 brake clutch. These include a delayed or harsh Reverse engagement, or a double bump when the B3 brake clutch applies before the B2 brake clutch.
