Listed Jatco/Nissan transmissions may exhibit poor shift quality due to wear in various clutch control bores. Clutch control valves in the listed units are solenoid actuated. Apply and release of a clutch pack is in concert with other clutch control valves and their clutch packs for proper shift feel/timing. As the various clutch control valves oscillate and stroke over time deterioration of the bore and valve spool is the inevitable result. Such wear interferes with proper hydraulic control of the associated clutch pack, causing flares, harsh shifts, bind-ups, unintended slipping, erratic clutch apply timing, ratio codes and burnt clutches.

Reconditioning the affected bore and installing Sonnax oversized clutch control valve kit 103740-05K restores hydraulic integrity and shift feel.
