Vehicles with Jatco/Nissan JF016E (RE0F10D) and JF017E (RE0F10E) transmissions can have complaints associated with a worn plunger valve sleeve or wear in the TC switch/regulator bore which includes TCC apply codes, burnt converter and converter shudder. This wear allows critical control oil to escape, which affects the timing and quality of the lockup clutch apply and release action. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized lockup control and plunger valve kit 33510N-13K will restore correct clearances and maintain proper hydraulic control of the lockup control valve.
Vacuum testing at the port(s) indicated fails to hold the recommended minimum in-Hg, or if wear is visually detected.
