Symptoms:

  • Low cooler flow
  • Overheated transmission & converter
  • Reduced converter clutch life
  • Converter shudder & TCC slip

Cause:

Bore wear at the balance end of the valve reduces converter and lube flow. Boost sleeve wear results in converter pressure bleeding into and elevating EPC. Bore wear at the spring end of the valve allows the SLT circuit and regulated converter pressure to cross-leak.

Correction:

Sonnax oversized secondary pressure regulator valve kit corrects circuit pressure loss and restores control over the secondary pressure regulator valve and boost valve function.

The secondary pressure regulator valve on the Aisin Seiki AS69RC can often wear out. Deterioration at the balance spool end allows for fluid loss resulting in high line pressure, harsh shifts and overheating due to reduced cooler/converter flow. Wear in the boost sleeve can result in converter pressure bleeding into the EPC.

Restore proper hydraulic integrity of the circuit by reconditioning the bore and installing the Sonnax oversized secondary pressure regulator valve kit 122740-28K.
