4F50N, '04-Later: No Forward or Reverse After Valve Body Replacement

Problem:
No forward or reverse movement after valve body replacement.
Cause:
The 4F50N received a hydraulic makeover beginning in model year 2004. 2004-Later 4F50N valve bodies and pumps are not interchangeable with earlier years. It is possible to bolt on an earlier valve body to the channel plate, but it will not work.
Correction:
Always look at the first 4 to 5 digits of the rough forging number to correctly identify the valve body that came with the vehicle.
