Chrysler A727, A904 Throttle Link Adjustment

Valve Body Xpress

  1. Make sure the throttle body or carburetor linkage is at lowest idle position. If you cannot get the throttle body or carburetor to return to the lowest idle position, it may be necessary to disconnect the throttle linkage from the transmission throttle valve lever. This sometimes happens if linkage is severely out of adjustment.
  2. Use a plastic wire tie to hole the linkage in the low idle position.
  3. Raise the vehicle on a lift and loosen the lock screw on the linkage swivel.
  4. Disconnect the linkage swivel from the throttle lever.
  5. Hold the throttle lever towards the front of the transmission as far as it will go.
  6. Adjust the swivel so that it will just slip onto the throttle valve lever.
  7. Tighten the lock screw.
  8. Lower the vehicle and remove the wire tie.
