Symptoms:

Burnt bands
No Reverse
No 4th

Cause:

Wear of the 3-4 shift valve end plug can allow apply pressure for the Low Reverse and Overdrive bands to exhaust, resulting in no Reverse or no 4th Gear.

Correction:

Sonnax drop-in O-ringed end plug provides positive sealing in worn bores or for worn OE end plugs, preventing valuable apply pressure from exhausting.

Vehicles with Ford AODE, 4R70W, 4R70E, 4R75W or 4R75E transmissions can have complaints of no Reverse and/or no 4th Gear. These can be the result of low pressure in the respective apply circuits failing to apply the bands, and/or burning the bands over time.
