Vehicles equipped with Jatco/Nissan JF016E (RE0F10D) and JF017E (RE0F10E) transmissions commonly have TCC apply and release concerns that can be traced to problems in the torque converter lube regulator valve bore. Wear in this bore allows critical fluid to escape from the circuit, resulting in overheated fluid, stall on engagement, no lockup, jerking on coastdown and overheated transmission and converter.
Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized torque converter lube regulator and plunger valve kit 33510N-08K can fix such issues for renewed TCC control.
Vacuum testing at the port(s) indicated fails to hold the recommended minimum in-Hg, or if wear is visually detected.
