Symptoms:

  • Jerking on coastdown
  • Overheated fluid
  • No lockup
  • Engine stall on engagement

Cause:

Wear on the OE sleeve and plunger valve may cause jerking on coastdown, overheated fluid, no lockup, engine stall on engagement and premature torque converter failure.

Correction:

Replace the worn OE torque converter lube regulator sleeve and plunger valve with Sonnax torque converter lube regulator plunger valve kit.

Vehicles equipped with Jatco/Nissan JF016E (RE0F10D) and JF017E (RE0F10E) transmissions commonly have TCC apply and release concerns that can be traced to problems in the torque converter lube regulator valve train.
