Sonnax offers selective thickness fiber washers CH-WF-4 for replacing OE thrust bearings, which have a high failure rate when subjected to impact loading. Setting internal and clutch release clearances has long been a problem with these units. Excessive clearance can cause the damper springs to walk up the side of the turbine. This selective washer can be used to adjust both the internal and clutch release clearance without having to machine the front cover or turbine hub.
