Symptoms:

  • Premature wear & bushing failure
  • Code P0741
  • TCC apply & release concerns

Cause:

OE aluminum stator bushings prematurely wear out under some operating conditions.

Correction:

Restore normal operation and avoid comebacks by installing improved Sonnax stator support bushing kit.

Warning:

Use of an arbor press is required for correct installation. Do not use a hydraulic press or a bushing driver/hammer combination to install, as doing so may distort the bushing and cause fitment issues.

GM 6L45 and 6L50 transmissions have aluminum bushings installed at the front and rear of the stator shaft. While aluminum bushings generally have good wear characteristics, they are vulnerable during moments of low or no oil flow, such as during startup. The OE aluminum bushings in the stator shaft are prone to premature wear for this reason, resulting in scored bushings, bushing failure, TCC codes and TCC apply and release concerns. Installing improved Sonnax stator support bushing kit 104036BK restores normal operation and eliminates worries about bushing-related comebacks.
