Symptoms:

  • Excess converter pressure
  • Converter shudder & TCC slip
  • Low converter pressure
  • Overheated converter
  • Damaged converter

Cause:

Excess wear/clearance at the inboard converter limit valve spool leads to unwanted converter pressure loss. Debris damage at the outboard valve spool creates binding that can stick the valve in either a high or low converter pressure position.

Correction:

Recover hydraulic control and renew TCC performance by installing Sonnax drop-in converter limit valve kit that features a drop-in sleeve/valve assembly to compensate for wear and excess clearance, even in worn bores.
